The Muny

The Muny (originally the Municipal Theatre)  is a historic landmark nestled in St. Louis's famed Forest Park. More than five generations of St. Louis audiences have enjoyed Muny theatre productions. In 1939 the pergolas were modernized with stone columns and designed to shelter 15,000 people in case of rain. Located in Forest Park, a natural setting with high quality green spaces and range of valuable resources serving residents and visitors in the St. Louis area.

The project to restore the Muny's pergolas was part of the Second Century Capital Campaign. Capital improvements and restoration activities began in 2018 and continued through 2022. The grant from the Robert J. Trulaske Jr. Family Foundation which supported the campaign was allocated towards the Muny's historic pergolas.
