Bell Demonstration Garden

Our Foundation supported the Bell Demonstration Garden with funding for Prairie Kits, structures for pollinators, Hawk platforms, a bed of native plantings, and educational signage. Participants in workshops funded by the grant received mason bee houses and herb plants for their gardens. Bell Demonstration Garden serves as a community resource for urban gardeners. Dunn Ranch Prairie

Since 2008, the Foundation has consistently supported on-the-ground operations at Dunn Ranch. This included bison fencing, the purchase of a combine and grassland restoration related expenses. With Dunn Ranch the Nature Conservancy protects endangered native tallgrass prairie. Neglected vacant lots in North City’s Wells Goodfellow neighborhood were converted into green space in order to improve access to nature with walking paths and ecologically significant habitat.
